Craziest Football Transfers that Nearly Happened - Premier League (Part I)

Rivaldo to Bolton Wanderers

Sam Allardyce’s coaching spell with Bolton Wanderers saw the club floating in the top flight. He brought some high-profile names including Youri Djorkaeff and JayJay Okocha to his squad. He even guided the club to the UEFA Cup competitions in 2005-06 season.  

In 2004, they came closer to signing 2002 Brazil World Cup winner Rivaldo, according to a report by the Guardian.
